“A artista tem um jeito de habitar poeticamente esses espaços íntimos que também é determinante para seus ensaios fotográficos. Usando leite branco puro e óleos turvos, Palma faz experiências com flores e folhas submersas para criar imagens vistas de cima. O líquido sobre o qual são colocadas as plantas não só demarca campos de cores, mas também realça formas e contornos resultantes da infiltração sutil da luz. O componente líquido viscoso também suscita interpretações mais orgânicas dessa mistura de corpos híbridos que Palma produz. Há algo úmido, fecundo e até orgástico subjacente a essa hibridização, como se dela renascessem novos corpos. A paixão e o envolvimento romântico parecem atingir ali um dos seus primeiros clímax.”

“The artist has way of poetically inhabiting these intimate spaces that is also determinant for her photographic trials. Using both pure-white milk and turbid oils, Palma experiments with submerged flowers and leaves to make images seen from above. Liquid on which plants are placed not only demarcates color fields but also highlights shapes and outlines resulting from light´s subtle infiltration. The viscous liquid component also prompts more organic interpretations of this admixture of hybrid bodies that Palma produces. There is something moist, fecund and even orgasmic underlying this hybridization, as if new bodies would be reborn from it. Romantic passion and involvement seem to reach one of their first climaxes there.”
